This is one of my favorites. Also the first song I played for our church congregation with them singing with me. I always go back to this one when I need something I know really well.

Hymn seems to base our blessings on our faith and obedience. Seems exactly opposite to the message of grace. We are blessed by Christ’s faith and obedience. We are receivers of blessings by His grace…not our faith or obedience.
Even if you grant that your obedience is rewarded in various ways…isn’t it in the end a man centered hymn?
I believe that Salvation is by grace, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. There is no other way. Once saved, we are blessed when we trust and obey the commandments of the Lord Jesus Christ. I think different hymns highlight different doctrines and perspectives.
